Challenge # 6 Altered

Thank you to everyone who entered our DISTRESS challenge that has now come to an end, WOW what a lot of entries, you liked that theme didn't you!  The quality of the entries was again excellent and it has been lovely looking at your work.

The Top 5 selections from the long shortlist for this challenge were:

Top prize of £10 of Stamp Man Gift Vouchers goes to...

71 Anika

The other 4 are...

6 Annette
85 Laura
117 Kathleen F
 123 Davi

Please take your blinkies from the sidebar ladies!

Again, we wish you all could have won!

The theme this time is ALTERED.  For your challenge entry please click on the inlinks button below and link it to the actual post where we will find your altered item NOT your blog address.  If you do not know how to do this please read the Challenge Instructions given on the sidebar.

We hope you will join in with this challenge, and to encourage you to challenge yourself to alter something we are holding a separate random prize draw for everyone that actually enters their work into the altered challenge.

The prize will be £30 of Stamp Man Gift Vouchers!

We will also be choosing our Top 5 as usual.

Also, we are doing something different this time, as well as challenging you we are holding a blog hop.  That's the reason why our normal DT work isn't shown here this time, you'll see it on the hop!  The instructions for that are given in the separate post below.

The challenge and the blog hop will end at 9pm on Thursday 7th October.
Winners will be announced during the week following

As there is a lot going on I have made 3 separate posts, this one for the challenge, the next one for the blog hop instructions and the 3rd is the start of the blog hop.

Good luck everyone!

Blog Hop Instructions

The Design Team's altered work for this challenge is shown on their own blogs this time.  As you'll see I challenged them to change some letters.  I bought them years ago but didn't get round to doing anything with them, but I recently thought it would be a great challenge for the team.  They have all come up with something different.  They are made from papier mache and approx. 6" tall, so plenty of scope for altering.

We have them displayed in the shop now, so you will be able to see them in real life if you visit our shop.

Make a note of all the letters as you go round, (this will help ensure you don't miss any of the blogs) solve the anagram, and leave a comment with your answer on the post below the last blog hop post you visit, all will become clear when you get there!

We hope you will enjoy hopping around our Design Teams' blogs and will take part in the prize draws you will find at each blog.  You will find out about the prizes when you visit them and also which blog you should visit next.  If you follow them in the correct order you shouldn't get lost!  The first letter is given below in a separate post.

The challenge and the blog hop will end at 9pm on Thursday 7th October.

Winners will be announced during the week following and will have 7 days to claim their prize.

To qualify for a prize you will need to do the following.

- Display The Stamp Man Challenge blinkie on your blog (if you have a blog), simply copy and paste the code to your sidebar.

- Create a post about our blog hop with a link back to our challenge blog

- Leave a message on each blog you visit, if you do not leave comments at each one, you will not be eligible for ANY of the prizes.  If you don't have a blog you must put your full name in your comment.

There is a letter on each of the blogs, once you have worked out the anagram leave your answer on the post below the last letter you visit, instructions will be given there.

The blog hop starts in the post below

Good luck and have fun!!

Jill

The Blog Hop starts here!

This is your first letter! I have decorated it with Acrylic Daubers. I painted it first with gesso, then added pool and aqua paints and allowed it to dry. I painted again with snow cap which I sanded and distressed when it was completely dry.

I painted some copier paper randomly with the same paints, punched out the flowers, scrunched them up, then fixed them together with a large gem brad.

The prize I'm offering first is

So now you have a P, make a note of this, leave a comment below then move onto the next blog to visit which is Michelle midnight-crafter

If you do get lost, then come back here and start again!

We hope you have fun!!!!

Challenge # 5 - Distress

Our musical theme has now ended, thank you to everyone who entered, we really appreciate the time you took to enter, there were lots of lovely entries again.  This may not have been such a popular theme, we know that some of our themes are challenging, but hey that's what it's all about, a challenge, so well done to those that joined us!

Welcome to new entrants, we hope you will stick with us for future challenges.

Now for the hardest part, picking a Top 5!

The top prize of £10 of Stamp Man gift vouchers this time goes to...

36 JoZarty

The other 4 selected are

27 Kathleen/Kats Creations

Again, I have to say I wish you could all have been winners, but keep joining us and your turn will come I'm sure:)  Please take your blinkies from the sidebar Top 5 ladies and JoZarty, I'll contact you about your prize very soon!  Anyone who used our stamps, then do remember to take your gold star blinkie too.

So, now for a new challenge, this time it's distress.  I think our Design Team have made gorgeous cards yet again and we are looking forward to seeing all of your entries.

As it is my turn to host the challenge I thought I would give a sneak peek at something that is featuring in my next Create and Craft live show which is on Wednesday 15th September at 9am, a mini journal.  I hope you will be able to watch it live or catch a repeat, if not perhaps you could record it!  I'll also be on at noon the same day for Craft Creations.

Well, I'll stop waffling and let you get on with your distressing!

OK, so that's our DT entries for the distress theme!

ADVANCE WARNING!!
Before I go, just a mention about a future challenge, the one after this is 'altered'.  Before you all disappear and think no way, I can't do that, I only do cards, well you have about a month to think about what to alter and as it may be a challenging challenge, we will have something different for you, yep, some incentives:)  So be sure to hang around here for that one and PLEASE give it a go!  You can alter anything, a box, a picture frame, a tin, a jar, anything, the wackier the better, perhaps you can think of altering something for someone ready for a Christmas present.

Our Design Team know all about my challenges, Vix calls them 'Jill specials', now I'm challenging YOU!  ha ha!!

In the meantime, keep your eyes open for something to alter:) ... and get distressing!
